Zachariah is a proud husband and father to two beautiful girls. He loves animals and is a proud advocate for improving mental health and well-being.
Although this type of genre is not my typical read, I found myself fully immersed in the story. The descriptions were so detailed that I truly felt like I was watching a movie versus reading a book. Even if this is not your typical read, I 100% recommend giving it a try!
Wow! What an intense ride. This book opened with such a visual bang I had to set it down and regroup for what I was in for. I went into this read with no expectations or guesses on the journey it would take me on, and boy, did it take me on a journey. It started with a scene that pulled me into its darkness and gore so quickly I craved more immediately. As I traveled through its pages, it set a tone with its characters and their background stories. Tying them together in ways that I didn’t understand for a bit, and then the thread quickly pulled tight, and everything was woven together so intensely. I haven’t red a horror book before as my main concern was how most horror is visual and that’s why it’s scary, but this Author wrote these scenes so well you could feel the fear, hear the gore. Your skin was prickled by the darkness in the pages of the evil our characters were up against. I bounced in so many emotions from panic and pain and grief to laughter at times. I was screaming and cheering and gasping. Audibly projecting my worries and anxieties into the room around me as I read, walking out the plot that just kept giving! I have to say I’ve never read anything that I am begging Netflix to puck up and give us a show based on because I would binge this to the very end. This book was so good, and I can’t wait until we get to continue this terrifying adventure when it picks back up from the cliff hanger it left us clawing on to!
What a wild ride this book was!
I met this author on a social platform, and found out this is his debut. After reading it I was so impressed.
This book has an amazingly well written third person POV, a great story line, dynamic characters, and strong female characters. It takes you on a scary, twisted, and fd up journey. If you like Clive Barker or the author of Sandman Slim, you’ll love this!
We Come Bearing Curses
Zachariah Chamberlain
When it comes to supernatural horror, I preferred to watch mine. However, this book definitely captured the elements of supernatural horror, and if it was a movie, I would totally watch it.
I had a lot of favorite characters in this book the George and Phineas were at the top of my list for characters that I loved .
This book is thick, but I can promise you it builds up so much of what you need in this story it is totally worth every page .
A haunting tale of horror and otherworldly majesty, Chamberlin’s first novel is a breathtaking ride of imagery and action. Packed with intriguing characters and Lovecraftian-esque monsters, this tale will have readers on the edge of their seats. The story arc is well crafted and the characters are strong, heroic, and also vulnerable in very relatable ways. Highly recommend.
This book is a wild ride, a little bit like living inside one of those extreme haunted houses. Written in a style and depth of world creation reminiscent of Clive Barker’s work, this book is an intense experience, one that has to be read with the lights on and the doors locked. Looking forward to diving more into this world and its characters, so I hope we see a follow up soon!
This book was filled with terror and intense emotions. I enjoyed every thrilling second of it. I was totally engaged throughout the entire book. All the detailed descriptions and flavorful word choices really made this piece of work true horror. I was honestly blown away. I went into it blind and was sure surprised to find a unique story. I will be reading this again.
We Come Bearing Curses is the first book I’ve read in a long time. Reading it made me remember how much I used to love reading a good book/story! I found myself reading faster just to see what would happen sooner resulting in finishing the book within the week. Then I was kind of mad the book wasn’t longer. The descriptions of the characters and scenes were so well written I had no problems picturing them in my mind. Highly recommend if you enjoy dark vs light, good vs evil. Or if you just like reading well written books! Can’t go wrong with We Come Bearing Curses!
I love reading occult horror books , so I was excited to read this one. It had some very vivid descriptions. I was hooked from the start!! I enjoyed getting to read this one! It was definitely very twisted and dark!! Two of my favorite things in one book!! I loved how descriptive it was. I had a hard time putting it down as I was reading it. This book had a great story and Itās definitely a good book recommendation for hardcore horror fans.
OMFG!!!!! This book was everything. I admit that I was questioning how good this book was going to read because I never found an Occult horror that I like and there arenāt many amazing horror books that are almost 500 pages. Most likely people get bored BUT not with this book from the first page I was hooked. Of course life got in the way but the minute I opened my kindle again I was sucked in again. Like my friend Heather said while we buddy read this book together is that it played like a movie in my head. The creatures that this man bought to life in this book was insane. There were times where I would gag or cringe with how disgusting these things were. The images that he created to tell you what these things or the people of this small town looked like was so disgusting that you couldnāt help but gag. Just the prologue of this book started with a freaking bang.i canāt wait to see what else this amazing author comes up with.
So right off the bat i will say this book is so vividly described I could picture EVERYTHING. I am a massive horror/thriller lover, and there was a time or two ya girl was scared enough i had to move rooms to have more light š . It was a really lovely. And lets not talk about the times i almost lost my stomach š¤£ because Zachariah really does NOT miss on creating the scenes. I HIGHLY reccomend it.
We Come Bearing Curses offers a riveting narrative shrouded in mystery and dark magic. With intricate storytelling, it immerses readers in a world of curses, secrets, and gripping suspense. It’s always a tiny town of terror. What’s next?
Holy heck! I am sitting up at 0130 watching a sitcom because thereās no way I will get to sleep anytime soon after reading the prologue of āWe Come Bearing Cursesā. From the truly repulsive āAqualungā presence, to the crushing Barkeresque terror, hoping for some window back into sanity, only to be met with the cold, inhuman civility of a Michael Fassbender monstrosity. āAbandon all hope he you enter hereā. I will be reading this book in daylight!
This author impressed me with his first book! The characters and their stories are so intensely written that you feel immersed and canāt stop reading. Iām not an avid horror fan but he had me hooked. I am looking forward to what he will bring us next!
I was amazed at how descriptive the book was and how I was drawn into the horrific glory. I think the author did a great job pulling the horror side of the book in with the fantasy. I couldnāt put it down and read the book in 3 days. I liked the aspect of connecting the living world with the dead, especially for epic battle scenes. I would recommend this to everyone even if horror isnāt your usual genre.
